Crippling Zipper

The zipper ate my resolve when I pulled it shut
Practically right outside the gate
Tooth by interlocking tooth
The jaws did clothes off
keeping my secrets hidden from the public eye,
And everything became a secret.
Every moment yellowed with this fear of ridicule
Now I find halfway down the road that
the zipper has rusted shut
And I am one apart from the world
Separated
struck dumb by a crippling zipper
