Daybreak
A layered mixed drink–
night fades to sandwiched neon:
blue, brilliant hues, black.
Broken by an upraised wing,
interrupting the moment.
I’m trying this short form that’s new to me: tanka. It’s similar to a haiku with a hinge and an opinion.
