Haiku: Dazzled

Dazzled At a loss for words; how to haiku on Christmas? Just enjoy the lights. It’s a Christmas miracle: I have nothing to say. What harm does it do when the clouds cover the sun? I’ll just let it pass and shine on.

Tanka: Daybreak

Daybreak A layered mixed drink– night fades to sandwiched neon: blue, brilliant hues, black. Broken by an upraised wing, interrupting the moment. I’m trying this short form that’s new to me: tanka. It’s similar to a haiku with a hinge and an opinion.
