Trifextra, week 81: Keeping Hope

He opened the viewfinder and selected a year –

Back when life grew.

It was marvelous – so tough to pick one day.

Because no matter which season, it was a sight for sore eyes.

This week’s post was prompted by the Trifextra writing challenge: in a nutshell, 33 positive words using the picture and video.

  1. Maybe it’s the frame of mind I’m in lately, but I read this as a sort of post-apocalyptic sci-fi sort of thing, like he was looking back in time to when the world was full of life. In any case, I loved it.

    1. No, that’s how I was writing it. You got it in one! The idea is this guy has some access – whether limited or complete is left to the imagination – via a machine which presents a year on the view screen as slices, much like an MRI machine does, except whereas the slices over space presents a contiguous image, the slices over time comes out a little differently. Of course what a lot of commenters are pointing out stands as the main message, the milieu is what you’re picking up on. Thanks for the love! πŸ™‚
