It’s not Freshly Pressed, but I’ll take it!

Guess what??

Funny story: I was just reading this post by the Daily Post, and I saw myself featured in a tweet that I replied to on Monday! Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Is it free advertising? I think possibly. Is it an endorsement? Probably not. But my face is out there for everyone to see who reads the Daily Post, so go me!

What I’m really proud of, though, is that this post covers a timeless topic: who is your reader, who do you write for? It gives some really good advice in writing in authentic voice through self-doubt. I recommend it for anyone who writes or wants to write. In case you missed the link above, here it is again: Who is Your Reader?

  1. Hooray! Freshly Pressed scares me, to be honest, because I can be like the first, second, or fifth comment on a post from people I follow, and once the post hits that designation, the comments section blows up.

So a more subtle recognition like yours, I think that’s great. What I noticed, too, was that they included a link to your Twitter feed, so that’s still a connection to your blog.

  2. That’s cool! It will show more people what you’re made of – you know, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen!

I’ve been Freshly Pressed, and it basically adds about 3-400 followers and about 9-10,000 views in a short time. But I’ve also done that on my own with a couple of posts I did about 4 months after starting the blog, luckily. What matters more is consistent views, not spikes. It’s a process, not an event.
