Steady, now —
Sometimes you just do
whatever it takes to make
your next beginning.
This is a little frustrating – the Internet was cutting out on me all morning before going to work. I’m trying to keep my cool, but if I can’t wrangle it out the cable company is going to feel all of the ire my Ancient Scottish roots can handle.
Complacency

A contemplative
moment becomes the method —
don’t get too comfy.
You know that moment you realize that you’re slacking, and you fear that you’re going to lose whatever it is you’re working for to unseen forces encroaching just beyond your immediate horizon? I’m having one of those weeks. It may be due to the fact that we have been living without Internet service in our new home and that makes it difficult to keep up; fortunately, that will be taken care of today. But will that dissuade the beast at my horizon?
Genius

An imagineer
of the status quo not seen.
The bomb — lesser evil.

Beginning II
Back to work — no prob.
After running the gauntlet,
I welcome this life.
Well, after two weeks off it’s finally time to return to what is considered to be normal. In some ways I’m looking forward to it – training on the Mazak laser cutting machines, earning my wages again and not getting paid through a magically finagled combination of holiday pay and paid time off. My widdershins world is running rightways again. The thing I will miss most is being able to spend the day at home with my ladies, Mme Ross and the wee one.

Beginning I
Box by box unpacked,
a space for writing is shaped —
finding my feng shui.
We have so much to do when we are moving from one house to the next. I, for one, didn’t think to call the cable company until a few days before closing and so of course we have to wait until Wednesday to get our Internet hooked up. I’m posting from the phone for now, and forsaking formatting!

“Adventure is worthwhile in itself.”
–Amelia Earhart
“And there are never really endings, happy or otherwise. Things keep going on, they overlap and blur, your story is part of your sister’s story is part of many other stories, and there is no telling where any of them may lead.”
― Erin Morgenstern, The Night Circus
“Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.”
– Nikola Tesla
